In collectors world, vinyl or cd promo’s have always been a big deal. These promo’s usually contain new or different artwork, and sometimes they have a cool extra track on it. An instrumental version or a radio edit of the particular song. Or sometimes it will have a special Callout Hook on it. These Callout Hooks are used for promoting the song on radio, and are usually specially made by the band or record company. You don’t see these on promo’s very often anymore, because nowadays they just put the song on a promo, and let the radio people decide for themselves.

The cd promo I want to talk about here is the Miracle cd promo. This one is also somewhat of a big deal in Foo collectors world. There are not many out there, and crazy prices are beiing payed for it. Personally I think this is because of the great artwork. This shows a picture of the channels in Amsterdam. So for me this is extra cool, because I’m from Amsterdam and the picture is probably taken on the day (or a day earlier) that they played a concert at the HMH in Amsterdam. Of course I attended the show.

This promo was released in a period that normal cd and/ or vinyl singles were still normal. This particular single however, never got a normal single release, and so became more collectible. Nowadays this is even more so. Almost no physical singles are released anymore, and therefore the promo singles that are out there, are going for crazy prices.

We collectors will always want something to hold in our hands. Even if it’s just a simple cd promo. In the Foo collectors community this topic has become a big deal. It’s getting harder and harder to come by great new things, so we hold on to what was released in the past. That’s another reason why this one is so wanted these days. Even more so than it was when it got released.
